Best Realtors in Daly City, CA (2026 Guide)
By Matthew Martinez
Daly City is the largest city in northern San Mateo County, with about 101,000 people directly south of San Francisco. Its housing is mostly single-family homes built in tracts after World War II, from Westlake and Serramonte to Crocker and Bayshore, plus condos and apartments near the BART station and along the coastal bluffs.
This guide is published by Diamond Real Estate Group, one of the brokerages listed. Our broker is listed first; other agents are in alphabetical order. The order is not a ranking, and inclusion is not an endorsement.
How we chose the agents in this guide
Each agent below met three checks in October 2026:
- A current California license. We opened each agent’s record on the California Department of Real Estate (DRE) public lookup and confirmed the name, license type (salesperson or broker) and a "Licensed" status, with a responsible broker or broker-associate affiliation that matches the brokerage on the agent’s profile.
- A named brokerage. Each agent’s DRE record shows the brokerage they work under.
- A public page that names Daly City. We opened each agent’s brokerage or Homes.com profile and confirmed it names Daly City or a Daly City neighborhood as an area served, or a Daly City office.
We did not rank agents, and we did not consider sales volume, reviews or awards. Licenses and affiliations change, so check the license yourself before you sign anything, and interview more than one agent.

Westlake, Serramonte and the coastal neighborhoods
Daly City’s neighborhoods include Westlake and its mid-century tract homes, Serramonte and Serra Highlands near the shopping center and Interstate 280, the older streets of Original Daly City and Crocker near the San Francisco line, and Bayshore on the east side. Along the western edge, homes sit near coastal bluffs above the Pacific, where erosion and slope stability are real questions. See our Daly City real estate guide, housing settings comparison, condo and townhome ownership costs and older home records and inspections.
Costs and rules specific to a Daly City purchase
- Transfer tax. The San Mateo County Clerk-Recorder levies the documentary transfer tax at 55 cents per $500, or $1.10 per $1,000 of value: about $1,222 on a $1,111,300 sale. The Recorder’s page names only the City of San Mateo as adding a city conveyance tax, so a Daly City sale pays the county tax alone. Our California transfer tax guide explains who usually pays.
- Earthquake faults and bluffs. The San Andreas Fault runs just offshore and through the western edge of the city. Read the natural hazard disclosure report for mapped fault, seismic hazard and landslide zones, and get a geotechnical opinion for any home near the bluffs.
- In-law units and permits. Many tract homes have ground-floor rooms or in-law units added over the years. Ask the City’s Building Division for permit history before you count a second unit as legal living space.
- Older systems. Mid-century homes can need sewer lateral, foundation, electrical and window updates; order a full set of inspections.
- Fire hazard zones. Check the address on the State Fire Marshal’s Fire Hazard Severity Zone maps, especially near San Bruno Mountain.
- Budgeting. See our Daly City homeownership budget for costs that follow closing.

How to vet a Daly City agent
- Ask for sales in your neighborhood. Westlake, Serramonte and Original Daly City price differently; ask for recent closed sales of similar homes nearby.
- Ask how they verify in-law units. A good agent will compare the floor plan with permit records before you pay for a second unit.
- Ask about bluff and fault reports. For western neighborhoods, ask which geotechnical reports they have seen and how they handle disclosure of slope history.
- Ask about multigenerational needs. If you need separate living space, ask how the agent screens listings for layout and permitted rooms.
- Ask about language support. Daly City has a large immigrant community; if you prefer to work in another language, ask whether the agent or team can do so.
- Check the license yourself. Confirm a "Licensed" status with a current broker on the DRE lookup.
Daly City questions we hear

What is the median home value in Daly City?
Census estimates put it at about $1,111,300 for 2024. Ask an agent for recent sales of comparable homes.

Do these agents also work in South San Francisco and Pacifica?
Several do. Profiles in the table also name South San Francisco, San Bruno, Pacifica and other Peninsula cities.
